Casa Árabe and Women for Africa: together in support of African women

Madrid, 9th June, 2017. Pedro Villena, the director of the Casa Árabe strategic centre for relations with the Arabic world, and María Teresa Fernández de la Vega, the president of the Women for Africa Foundation (Mujeres por África), yesterday signed a framework agreement by which the collaboration that already exists between the two entities has now been formalised.

Casa Árabe and Women for Africa are both committed to development in Africa and gender equality, always via respect for cultural diversity, democracy, human rights and the promotion of fair international relations.

By dint of this agreement, the two organisations will be working together in organising congresses, courses and in general activities in which they will take part or which promote North African values with the main aim of backing and giving visibility to the work of African women.

Likewise, Women for Africa and Casa Árabe will collaborate in their shared goal of bringing the real situation in Africa closer to Spanish citizens and of promoting awareness and solidarity as regards the continent.
